Legal
Terms of Use
Effective October 3, 2026
These terms apply to the RigMap iPhone app and this website, provided by RigMap ("RigMap", "we"). By using RigMap you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use RigMap.
1. Beta software
RigMap is in beta. Features may change, stop working or be removed, and the app may contain errors. We provide it through Apple TestFlight to people we've invited.
2. Who can use RigMap
You must be at least 18 and hold any licence your driving requires. During the beta, RigMap opens only with a team access code. Use the code only within the team it was given to, and don't publish it. We can change or revoke codes at any time.
3. Navigation and data accuracy
- Routes, restrictions, bridge clearances, speed limits, traffic, incidents, weather, border waits, parking status, prices and other information come from public agencies, map data and other drivers. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong.
- A route marked truck-safe can still include a restriction we don't know about. A warning can appear for a hazard that doesn't apply to you. Always check posted signs.
- You're responsible for choosing a safe and legal route for your vehicle, load and permits, and for hours-of-service and other regulations.
- Don't type, search or handle the phone while driving. Set your route before you move, and use voice features or pull over safely.
4. Acceptable use
Don't:
- send false or misleading reports, or reports meant to mislead other drivers;
- copy, scrape or resell RigMap's data, routes or content;
- reverse engineer the app, get around the access code, or interfere with RigMap's servers;
- use RigMap for anything unlawful.
5. Your reports
When you send a report, you allow us to store, use, change, combine and share it with other drivers and to improve RigMap. Only send information you have the right to share. We may remove any report.
6. Our rights
RigMap, including its software, design and route technology, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app during the beta under these terms.
7. Data sources and trademarks
RigMap uses data from many public sources. Required notices:
- Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License.
- Bridge data includes the US National Bridge Inventory (Federal Highway Administration).
- Weather data by Open-Meteo.com (CC BY 4.0) and the US National Weather Service.
- Traffic cameras, incidents and road conditions from US state and Canadian provincial transportation agencies and 511 services.
- Border wait times from U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Canada Border Services Agency.
- Map display by Mapbox.
Company names, logos and brands shown in RigMap, such as truck stop and fuel chains, belong to their owners. They're shown only to identify locations, and their use doesn't mean those companies endorse or are connected with RigMap.
8. Third-party services
Camera feeds, maps, search and other services from third parties are subject to their own terms. We don't control them and aren't responsible for them.
9. No warranty
RigMap is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including that RigMap will be accurate, uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, RigMap and its team aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for vehicle damage, fines, delays, lost loads or lost profits arising from your use of RigMap or reliance on its information. Where liability can't be excluded, it's limited to the amount you paid us for RigMap in the 12 months before the claim, which during the free beta is zero.
11. Indemnity
You agree to cover our losses and costs from claims caused by your misuse of RigMap or your breach of these terms.
12. Ending use
You can stop using RigMap at any time by deleting it. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms or when the beta ends.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the courts there have jurisdiction, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the effective date above, and continuing to use RigMap after a change means you accept it.
