RigMap

Features

Everything in the cab, in one app

Routing built for trucks, the hazards that matter to a tall or heavy rig, and the places drivers need along the way.

Truck routing

Routes that fit your truck

Every route is calculated for your rig. Set your height, width, length, gross weight, axle weight and axle count once in your profile; feet or metres, pounds or tonnes.

  • Posted limits respected: height, weight, width, length, axle load and axle count.
  • No-truck roads avoided, including day and hour limited bans where the data has them.
  • Stays on the mainline: routes are checked for needless exit-and-re-enter detours and U-turns, and cleaned up automatically when a better legal route exists.
  • Up to three alternatives with time, distance, tolls and ferries on each.
  • Add stops in any order; RigMap keeps them in sequence along the trip.
  • Truck entrances: at known facilities RigMap routes to the truck gate, not the front door.

Route options

Eight modes, five avoids, hazmat

Choose a mode, add the things you want to avoid, and see what RigMap changes.

Route mode

Avoid

Hazmat: choose your load classes (1 Explosives through 9 Miscellaneous) for the trip. RigMap then avoids roads and tunnels closed to hazardous materials, and steers away from dense downtown streets when a cleaner legal route exists.

Low bridges & limits

Clearances and limits on the map

Posted height, weight, width and length restrictions are drawn on the map with their value inside the sign, coloured against your truck: green clears, amber is tight, red does not fit.

  • Low-clearance bridges from the national bridge inventory and map data, called out before you reach them.
  • Bridges you drive over are told apart from bridges you drive under, so you aren't warned about the deck you're on.
  • Your units: clearances in feet and inches or metres; weight in tonnes.
  • Mark a road as no-truck from the map and RigMap routes around it.

Stops, parking & scales

Find the right stop, fast

Truck stops, travel centres, cardlocks, rest areas, truck parking, repair, washes and weigh stations, with the chain's logo on the pin so you can tell them apart at a glance.

  • Filters for stops, fuel, parking and scales.
  • Stop cards with amenities, address, phone, parking status, diesel price reports and ratings.
  • Parking status reported by drivers: Many, Few or Full.
  • Weigh stations with open or closed reports.
  • Canadian networks including BVD, Petro-Pass and other cardlocks.

Cameras & borders

See the road and the crossing ahead

Traffic cameras from state and provincial transportation agencies, on the map and in the Live tab. Live video plays where the agency provides it; others refresh as still images.

  • Cameras along your route with distance, and a camera card you can open without leaving navigation.
  • US–Canada border crossings with truck and car wait times in both directions where published.
  • Commercial lanes: routes use the truck lanes at crossings that separate them.
  • Choose your crossing and RigMap routes you through it.

Incidents & weather

Know what's coming before you get there

Construction, closures and incidents from state and provincial 511 and DOT feeds appear as road signs on the map. The weather is forecast for each point of your route at the time you'll arrive.

  • Work zones and closures refreshed through the day.
  • Weather ahead flags crosswind, ice, low visibility and heavy rain or snow on the route.
  • Live traffic colours on the route line where traffic data is available.

Route X-Ray & RigMap IQ

A second opinion on every route

Route X-Ray gives each route a truck safety score from 0 to 100 and shows why: steep grades, low clearances, restrictions and camera coverage. RigMap IQ answers questions about the route in plain language.

  • Fewer Hills uses elevation data to find flatter options for loaded rigs.
  • Ask IQ about a highway, a turn, a grade or a bridge. It can never override a truck-safety block.
  • Detour or stay? IQ weighs extra miles against traffic delay when you ask it to.
